The name for this piece actually came before the drawing. I was thinking one day about how infiltrating or attacking a computer system uses the same verb as striking something repeatedly with an axe or a sword: hacking. That got me imagining a sort of futuristic assassin who’s known for cutting the heads off cyborgs. Literally hacking through the necks of her opponents but also disrupting and dismantling their internal computer systems in the process.
I enjoyed giving this drawing a clean, open look that really emphasizes the silhouette, though there may be more of these hackers in future everyday drawings with more complex and dense compositions. It feels like an enjoyable theme to return to.
My everyday drawings are available for sale in my Big Cartel shop each morning at 11 am EST. For the first 100 days, each new drawing increases in price by $1.00, starting at $1.00 on day one. Everyday 012 – Hacker is listed at $12.00.
