Everyday 035 – Toad Licker

Once relegated to pond leaves and the undersides of human boots, this particular amphibian found new size and new life in the industrial post-reality. She now happily grows human heads on her lower body, infusing them with her natural bufotenine alkaloid to keep them in a suspended state of psychedelic torment.

Amphibians are some of the weirdest animals on the planet. I’m honestly not sure that any drawn environment I could put them in would make them any stranger than they in in reality. From secreting poisonous and sometimes psychedelic fluids from their heads to carrying their babies on their backs, sometimes literally under the skin of their backs, frogs are occasionally cute but in reality pretty nasty.

Enjoy this humorous but educational video on the nastiness of frogs.

Toad licker was just a fun way to incorporate a frog-like creature into a drawing and imagine what might have happened to animals when reality came apart in this fictional world I’ve been building. I wouldn’t mind doing another of these that focuses more specifically on the odd or disgusting tendencies of actual frogs. Stay tuned.
